The Urban Systems Engineering Lab (USE-Lab) aims to develop a people-centric, quantitative, and predictive understanding of the bottom-up organization of cities and use these insights to improve the efficiency of urban infrastructures. To that end, we apply and further develop computational tools from Urban Analytics, AI, and Complexity Science.

USE-Lab wins award in international research competition

For an innovative insight into using mobile phone data to increase the efficiency of the existing building stock in cities, a team of researchers from the Urban Systems Engineering Lab has won the runner-up award in the NetMob 2023 Data Challenge.
